Early departure in 4x4 vehicles to visit the Bajdah Nature Reserve. This protected area is part of the vast NEOM region, a haven for nature lovers. The NEOM natural area spans over 25,000 km² and aims to preserve the biodiversity of the Arabian Peninsula. We’ll go on safari to encounter the majestic Arabian oryx with its immaculate white coat, the Saudi gazelle (Gazella saudiya)—now extinct in the wild—ibexes, and red-necked ostriches. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the desert. In the afternoon, continue to explore the Hisma Desert, whose mountains are an extension of Jordan’s Wadi Rum. This stunning landscape features spectacular rock formations and ancient petroglyphs and inscriptions carved into the stone—evidence of its distant past.
Dinner in town and overnight at your hotel.
Accomodation: Mena Hotel Tabuk 4* Hotel or similar | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | 4x4 Tour of the Reserve: 2–3 hours | Hiking: 3 hours

  • Bedouin-style bivouac overnight stay: 550 SAR/person supplement
If your travel schedule allows and you're a desert lover, we recommend adding a second day to fully enjoy this magnificent desert. You can explore the northern section either by 4x4 or on foot.

This morning, we head to Wadi Disah Canyon, an exceptional natural site. Stretching 15 km long with several branches, this canyon cuts through ochre sandstone cliffs. A small stream runs through the valley, bringing freshness and life to the landscape. The contrast between the red cliffs, green palm groves, and the blue sky is striking. It’s a peaceful oasis, though occasionally frequented by local Saudi families for picnics. Still, the location remains magical.
Later, we continue to Harrat viewpoint for a breathtaking sunset over deep canyons, lush oases, and endless rock formations. Overnight in Al Ula.
Accomodation: Guest House 2* | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | 4x4 Tour: 2 hours (Disah Canyon)

We begin the day with a visit to the archaeological site of Dadan, capital of the ancient Lihyanite Kingdom (2nd century BC), predating the Nabataeans. Strategically located between Yemen and the Levant, it was a key stop along the incense and myrrh caravan routes. We explore a mountainside necropolis featuring the Lion Tombs.
Next, we head to Jebel Ikmah, a sacred place rich with petroglyphs and inscriptions, mostly in the Dadanitic language. This open-air library is unique due to the richness and variety of its ancient scripts carved into the rocks.
In the afternoon, we visit Hegra, the first Saudi site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This remarkably preserved ancient city was the southern capital of the Nabataean civilization. Like Petra, Hegra was a major caravan stop and commercial hub between the Arabian Peninsula and the Red Sea. Covering 20 km of desert terrain, it features a different topography from Petra and boasts over 100 monumental tombs carved into rock.
At the end of the day, we visit Al Ula Old Town. A new artisan pavilion recently opened, offering insight into traditional crafts and local arts passed down through generations. There are also shops selling antiques and furniture reflecting the town's cultural heritage. Locals are extremely warm and welcoming, and visitors can enjoy local meals at restaurants with both indoor and outdoor seating.
Accomodation: Guest House 2* | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (Optional meal choices available)|

  • The order of visits may be reversed: we may start with Hegra in the morning and visit Dadan in the afternoon, or vice versa, depending on crowd levels at Hegra.
  • Optional: Superior Accommodation
    • Sahary Al Ula Resort 3 Sup*: $110/person/night
    • Cloud 7 Resort AlUla 4*: $190/person/night supplement

In the morning, transfer to AlUla airport and flight* to Albaha via Jeddah. Upon arrival at Albaha airport, we head to Dhi Ayn, a mountain village dating back to the 16th century. Built on a small hill, this recently restored site contrasts beautifully with the foreground palm grove and the darker, colorful mountains in the background. We stroll through the steep alleys and climb up to the fortress overlooking the village.
In the afternoon, we depart for the Jebel Sheda mountain range. The last portion of the journey takes us along a particularly steep trail that requires the use of 4x4 vehicles!
Check-in at a guesthouse with a panoramic terrace overlooking the mountain village of Sheda. Enjoy a local dinner prepared by the residents.
Accomodation: Guest House 2* | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (Optional meal choices available)|

  • Flight AlUla – Albaha: extra charge of 700 SAR per person

We set off on a hike to explore the impressive granite massif of Jebel Sheda, located within a protected nature reserve. Along the way, we discover unusual rock formations and small coffee plantations scattered across the surrounding countryside. This protected area is home to elusive animals such as the Arabian leopard and the striped hyena.
We then head to the hidden gem of Rijal Almaa (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Visit to the ancient village of Rijal Almaa, once a major commercial crossroads. It has retained its beauty and well-deserved reputation: local agricultural products, particularly honey and butter, are highly valued in markets.
You will then continue the journey through the Asir Mountains with stops at panoramic viewpoints such as Atlat Asoodah (إطلالة السودة) and Al Sahab Viewpoint (مطل سحاب), offering breathtaking views of mist-covered peaks. From here, you can also admire Abha’s highest mountain, Jabal Sauda, as clouds sweep across the city. Dinner and overnight in Abha.

Early morning departure to discover one of Arabia’s hidden gems: Wadi Lajab, a captivating oasis nestled within Saudi Arabia’s arid desert landscape. Enjoy a 3-hour hike through the canyon.
After the hike, the adventure continues with a visit to Al Wahidah Waterfall and the Jabal al Qahar area (شلال الوهيدة جبال القهر الواديين), a very remote and wild region where few people live in very small villages. Your discovery of these villages will culminate in a breathtaking view of Wadi Wahida.
Dinner and overnight at Jabak Al-Aswad.
Accomodation: 2 Guesthouse or similar* | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | English speaking guide

  • For nature and peace lovers, this area offers absolutely stunning landscapes. You can enjoy 1 or 2 days of hiking through the canyon and surrounding mountains. Expect 4–5 hours of walking per day.

In the morning, departure for Fayfa. Before reaching Fayfa, we will visit one of the small coffee farms and have the chance to taste Khawlani coffee (listed by UNESCO as part of Saudi Arabia’s intangible cultural heritage): مزارع البن الخولاني ابو عبدالرحمن.
Then we head west to Fayfa — a paradise for lovers of grand landscapes. This village, nestled in the southern Asir Mountains, breaks all stereotypes associated with Saudi Arabia. No deserts or scorching heat here, but high, mist-covered mountains, lush vegetation, and cool temperatures — especially in winter.
The local population is made up of 20 different tribes known for the colorful traditional attire worn by men. These men are often called “flower men” due to the garlands of carnations they wear on their heads.
After visiting Fayfa, we continue to Jazan for a visit to Al Dosariyah Castle. Perched atop a mountain overlooking Jizan’s port, this historic fortress offers a panoramic view of the sea and cityscape.
Dinner and overnight in Jazan.
Accomodation: Hotel Plaza Jazan 3 or similar*| Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | English speaking guide

There is more to Saudi Arabia than just desert and mountains! About 40 km from the port city of Jazan, the Farasan Islands are a hidden paradise of the Arabian Peninsula. The archipelago consists of 80 islands, only three of which are inhabited year-round, including the largest, Farasan Island.
From Jazan, departure by ferry at 7:30 AM (we will load the cars onto the boat, so we must arrive 1.5 hours before departure) (approx. 1.5 hours). Upon arrival on the island, you will set off with your local boat to explore the mangrove and its impressive vegetation. Sailing over bluish waters bordered by white sand, you can enjoy birdwatching and observe the migratory and tropical birds inhabiting the mangrove. At the end of the excursion, you may spot the Goliath heron or the crab plover!
After lunch on the beach, visit Al Qassar, the Roman-era village of the Farasan Islands, followed by a short visit to Beit Al Rifi (an old house belonging to a wealthy islander, showcasing Yemeni architectural influence).
The afternoon is dedicated to swimming and snorkeling. Diving and snorkeling enthusiasts will find a rich and wild marine life in the Farasan archipelago. The Red Sea archipelago is home to over 230 marine species, including sea turtles, parrotfish, manta rays, and the surprising dugong.
