This immersive 9-day tour takes you deep into the heart of Jordan, allowing you to experience its legendary hospitality and explore its stunning landscapes. From the majestic Dana Biosphere Reserve, and the aquatic hikes in the wadis along the Dead Sea, to the otherworldly beauty of Wadi Rum. The hikes will introduce you to the country’s diverse flora, fauna, and incredible natural wonders. Walk in the footsteps of Bedouins and discover Jordan’s rich culture while hiking through its most iconic natural reserves.

This is a hiking adventure for experienced hikers who can walk 5 to 7 hours per day. Minimum age is 18 (as that is the minimum age for the Wadi Mujib Siq trail).

Tour Plan

Upon arrival at Amman airport, you’ll be greeted by one of our agents and transferred to your hotel for the night in Amman.

Meals: -
Accommodation: Kaya Hotel 4* or similar.
Optional upgrade: Hilton Amman 4* superior or W Hotel 5*.

After breakfast, we'll head to Mujib Canyon on the south side of the Dead Sea, for a thrilling aquatic hike (approximately 3 hours; minimum age is 18). You'll traverse through emerald basins and towering red rock walls, climbing up small waterfalls (safety vest is provided). Afterward, you'll have free time to relax, have lunch and experience floating in the Dead Sea. Then, we'll transfer to Wadi Bin Hammad for a second hike. For about three hours, we’ll explore its lush canyons and beautiful hanging gardens. We'll end the day with a scenic transfer to Dana for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today, we will delve into the heart of the Dana Nature Reserve, embarking on two distinct and memorable hikes. In the morning, we'll navigate the dramatic, hidden slot canyons and unique rock formations of the Shaq al Reesh trail. After a well-deserved lunch break, we'll switch gears to enjoy the panoramic, expansive vistas of the Romana Trail. This day offers the perfect blend of challenging canyon exploration and breathtaking mountain views. We will end the day with a relaxing evening and traditional dinner in Dana.

After breakfast, we'll head to Mansoura to begin our trek through Wadi Ghweir. On our way we will stop for a visit at the formidable Shobak Castle, a 12th-century Crusader fortress with a commanding view.  Then a short ride down hill to get to the start of Wadi Ghweir for a stunning hike through a vibrant canyon. Where you'll navigate over large boulders and trek through a gorge dotted with pink oleander flowers and where palm trees grow right out of the rock walls. Your guide will prepare a well-deserved lunch along the way, and you have time to cool off with a 'swim' in one of the wadi's beautiful natural pools. At the end of our hike, a vehicle will meet us to begin a scenic drive up to the plateau, to Wadi Musa for a relaxing evening and overnight stay.

Embark on your journey into Petra, the ancient Nabataean city carved into rose-red sandstone. Our first day starts at the Visitor Center, leading us through the magnificent Siq, a dramatic 1.2-kilometer gorge that reveals the iconic Treasury. Your expert guide will lead you past the intricate Street of Facades, the grand Theater, and the impressive Royal Tombs. Continuing along the Colonnaded Street to Qasr al Bint. From here, you'll have free time to explore more on your own. At the end of the day, we'll transfer to the tranquil Villa Maria Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

On your second day in Petra, we’ll explore the rose-red city from a new perspective. Our morning begins with a visit to Little Petra, a smaller but equally impressive site that offers a glimpse into the Nabataean way of life. From there, we will start the exhilarating Back Road Hike, a trail that rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views and a dramatic entrance to the city. The trail culminates at the majestic Monastery (Ad-Deir), where you can marvel at this colossal facade. We'll then descend the famous 800 steps into the main city. The rest of the afternoon is yours to discover the parts of Petra you didn’t get to on the first day, perhaps exploring the High Place of Sacrifice or the Petra Museum before returning to the Villa Maria Lodge.

  • Optional experience: Petra by Night. A magical evening where the Siq and Treasury are illuminated by thousands of candles. (Sunday to Thursday).

We leave in the morning from Wadi Musa to Wadi Rum, a stunning desert landscape of sandstone mountains and red sand dunes. On arrival you will be welcommed by a local Bedouin who will take you for a 3 hour, 4x4 jeep tour. There are stops to see the Anfashieh inscriptions, the remains of Lawrence house where you can enjoy the nice scenery. In Khazali Canyon there are more inscriptions to see. Followed by a visit to the small rock arch.  After lunch you'll do a 2 to 3 hour hike to enjoy the silence and the views of the desert landscape. This desert day ends with a marvelous sunset and dinner at the camp.

  • Optional experience: Lunch with a Bedouin family in the Wadi Rum desert. In a Bedouin tent made of goat's hair.

Get ready for a deeper dive into the Valley of the Moon with a three-hour jeep tour to its southern reaches. Our adventure begins in the dramatic Barrah Canyon, with its towering rock walls, before we visit the world-famous Burdah Bridge, the highest rock arch on Earth. The 4x4 will take us to our next adventure; we'll hike up part of Jebel Hash mountain for panoramic views that stretch for miles. Our tour concludes in the Nuqra Valley, where you can explore its vibrant ochre dunes. The day's adventure ends with a traditional Bedouin dinner and an overnight stay in our camp.

Afterward, explore the commanding Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century fortress that offers panoramic views of the Jordan Valley
Our suggestion for beach lovers: Sun, Sand & Snorkeling in Aqaba. For those who wish to unwind, extend your tour with a few days of relaxation on the Red Sea. Stay at a resort in Aqaba and enjoy the sun and sand. The Red Sea is famous for its vibrant underwater world, which you can explore with a snorkeling or diving tour by boat.
