Sightseeing: 10 days King’s Way tour

Visit the Desert Castles, including Qasr Al Kharraneh, Qasr Amra, and Qasr Al-Azraq, built by the Umayyad Caliphs in the 8th century. Each castle has a unique architectural style. In the afternoon, return to Amman and explore the Roman Theater and the Citadel. Immerse yourself in downtown's vibrant 'Souk al Khodra' market, where vendors passionately call out the names of their fresh produce, from juicy tomatoes to crisp cucumbers. For dinner, enjoy an authentic Jordanian meal in Tawaheen Alhawa, a beautifully restored old caravanserai before returning to your hotel.

Visit the remarkably preserved Greco-Roman city of Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the Decapolis. Continue to Ajloun Castle for an exploration of this 12th century Muslim castle. Your journey takes you further to the historic city of As-Salt, Jordan's old capital. Wander through the bustling downtown market before visiting the Al-Khader Church, a significant landmark built in 1682. Return to Amman for dinner and overnight stay.

Travel along the historic King's Way, starting with a visit to Madaba, the "City of Mosaics." Explore the famous mosaic map of Jerusalem and other beautiful Byzantine mosaics. Then, visit Mount Nebo, the site where Moses is said to have seen the Promised Land. Continue to Kerak Castle, a Crusader fortress, and end the day with a stunning sunset view over Petra.

Our suggestion: Instead of visiting Kerak Castle you can start this day with canyoning the Mujib Siq trail. (Minimum age 18 years, seasonal from April until October).

Explore Petra’s wonders over two days. Your first day of discovery in Petra begins at the Visitor Center. From there, you'll walk through the Siq, a breathtaking 1,200-meter gorge that dramatically opens up to reveal the magnificent Treasury. Your guide will continue with you along the Street of Facades and to the ancient Theater, which is carved directly into the rock. After visiting the Royal Tombs, you'll stroll down the Colonnaded Street to explore the impressive Great Temple and Qasr al Bint. The rest of the day is yours to explore more of Petra at your own pace. At the end of your Petra visit you will go to Villa Maria Lodge where you can cool down at the swimming pool and enjoy a home cooked dinner by a local.

On your second day your guide will take you to Little Petra for a hike on the Back Road trail to enter Petra at the Monastery. Also known as Ad Deir. This monument, carved into the sandstone cliff face of Jabal Ad Deir is one of the largest facades in Petra with a height of approximately 48 meters. From there you can go down to the Basin, at the end of the colonnaded street. You have time to see what you missed on your first day in Petra for example the Temple of the Winged Lions and the mosaics in the Byzantine Church.

In the morning you head south, to Wadi Rum, one of the most beautiful deserts in the world. Take a three hour 4x4 jeep tour followed by a three hour hike through the desert to admire the sunset. Dinner and overnight in a Bedouin camp.

After breakfast, head to Aqaba on the Red Sea. Spend the day relaxing on the beach. Dinner and overnight stay in Aqaba.

Transfer from the Red Sea to the Dead Sea where you can experience the unique sensation of floating in the mineral-rich waters of the lowest point on Earth. Return to Madaba for a farewell dinner at Carob house, a farm-to-fork restaurant where they serve mouthwatering Jordanian dishes.
